When Was The Last Time You Had a Good Scream?

Come To The Cabaret 💃🏻

Yesterday on NPR, they were talking about a New York Times hotline that mothers call in to holler and get stuff off their chests. It reminded me of the movie Cabaret, where Liza Minnelli gets her kicks screaming next to a train. I immediately wanted to dial in, just for the heck of it. Then it hit me. 🛎 Pilar, you have a sound treated voiceover booth that you go into every day to work. Why not use it as a vehicle to release negative energy?

After warming up, so I wouldn't damage my voice, I yelled like a sailor. Though I didn't really have anything to complain about, I figured it couldn't hurt. When I'd screamed enough, I opened the door and there was Paco, my tabby cat, staring at me with a worried look on his face. I, on the other hand, felt fantastic. Refreshed, even. My VO booth had become a perfect stand-in for a therapist and no one would be the wiser. As a result, I was incredibly productive the rest of the morning.

This could become a daily ritual. What good is sitting alone in your room when you can shriek, old chum? 🎙
